Role Title: Graphic Designer – China

Role specific purpose:     

Purpose:

The Graphic Designer is responsible for designing and creating engaging marketing material and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. This will include sales presentations and sponsorship impressions/graphics mock-ups to support the Partnerships & Marketing teams in the attraction and securing of new commercial partners across the region and contributing to fan and brand growth across the region.  

The role will involve repurposing, adapting, and localising existing CFG content ensuring it is suitable and attractive to a local audience/market.

The Graphic Designer will work closely with the other members of the Design Team, Marketing team and Partnership Sales team to understand the client/audience, produce a high standard, and innovative material that is aligned to the CFG brand. The role will also support the wider China teams on any other design briefs and needs they might have.

This is a role for a creative individual willing to collaborate within a team environment. They will be an integral part of every stage in the creative process, from concept to output.

Role specific accountabilities:

Project/business supportProducing Marketing & Partnership Sales content (using software such as Adobe After Effects alongside Illustrator and Photoshop) which will positively influence the identification and attraction of partnership clients and enhance fan/brand growth. This will include taking on a set defined task but will also include taking on conceptual ideas and interpreting them into a suite of options to be discussed and agreed upon with internal teams.

Accessing the content library and partnerships asset library to design and create content artwork which as presentations, adverts, banners, graphics, marketing collateral and developing artwork for both internal and sales presentations.

Manage own pipeline of work. Agreeing to timeframes and deadlines with internal teams and considering when and where external agencies will need to be engaged.

Advice and Information – Uses their market and creative experience to contribute to the setting of the artistic direction in the region, aligned to wider CFG brand guidelines. Be the main point of contact with the CFG content teams to ensure all up to date templates are used in China.

Act as key liaison with external content agencies, managing workload and briefs which they undertake on behalf of CFG China.

Policy, process and systems – Ensure all Copywrite and intellectual property compliance is adhered to with all briefs and external images used.

Operate as a team subject matter expert, conduct Brand design research on identified prospects and collaborate on new ideas for brand execution in partnership assets. Keep abreast of external market trends in graphic design.

  • Champion continuous process improvement – Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness by identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and ways of working, establishing measurement and KPIs where relevant.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in producing high quality creative material/data to inform and facilitate commercial decisions
  • Diploma / Degree in Graphic Design
  • Advanced user of Creative Suite, especially Adobe, Illustrator, In-Design MacOS
  • Must be able to deliver when faced with tight deadlines and constraints
  • Ability to organise and work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Good experience working in various aspects of creative design such as photo editing, packaging, and large-scale print layouts
  • 2-4 years of graphic design experience, preferably in a football club or in an agency environment
  • Good English Language Skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the football and sports industry
  • Knowledge of City Football Group’s portfolio of Clubs
  • Adobe Photoshop Certified expert
