Role:  Football Education Casual Coach

Business Function: Manchester City

Reports to: Program Manager

Department: Football Education

Closing date: 17th April 2022



Purpose:   To support the delivery of Football Education initiatives at the City Football Academy and on short-, medium- and long-term international projects


Accountabilities with Key Outcomes: 



To deliver on Football Education programs in the UK and Internationally when required


To communicate and educate Players, Coaches and Partners in the understanding and delivery of a City Football Education Program


To learn, develop and implement their understanding of the program and coaching techniques through continuous professional development with Football Education


To support the Lead Coach and the other coaches in the operations on and off the pitch


To ensure all responsibilities both on and off-field given by the Lead Coach are completed within the timelines and to the standard required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  



Level 2 and working towards UEFA B

Sports Education, Teaching, or management equivalent qualification.

The ability to work within a positive working environment.

To have the drive and ambition to develop personally

The ability to communicate informally and formally with coaches, players, parents, and key business stakeholders.

To have good experience in developing players of varying ages and abilities, including reviewing and evaluating individuals.

To be proficient in preparing and recording of documents to support the coaching, reviewing the project, and presenting to others internally and externally.

To have the interest, ability and flexibility to travel when required to support international short-, medium- or long-term projects.


Coaching License (UEFA B)

FA Youth coaching award or education in football development

 Ability to present both on and off the field


 To have experience implementing and developing a football coaching syllabus


To understand player pathways and the development process of players
