Purpose

The Communications Executive (known internally as Marketing Communications Executive) will support the wider marketing communications team in delivering projects and activity that highlight City Football Group’s commercial, partner-focused, and corporate activities.

You will take ownership of selected commercial communications projects and work closely with internal teams to support their communications activities. You will also contribute to communications activity for Manchester City’s new entertainment destination opening in 2026.

As the main administrative support for the marketing communications team, you will help manage planning and logistics, requiring strong administrative and organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Your Impact

  1. Project & Campaign Delivery

 

  • Support the wider marketing communications team with partner launches, activations, and content approvals.
  • Lead on selected projects across the business, providing communications guidance and advice.
  • Work with digital and media teams to support activity across media platforms and esports.
  • Attend internal planning meetings and work with internal teams to promote club activities in the UK and globally.

 

 

  1. Communications & Media Support
  • Prepare press releases and other written materials, liaising with media as required.
  • Lead on media monitoring and compile coverage reports for all marketing communications activity.

 

 

  1. Events & Logistics

 

  • Travel and support CFG representatives and legends at speaking opportunities and events in the UK and internationally.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the marketing communications team, including assisting with event operations for media events.

What we are looking for

Essential 

  • Experience within a communications role and have an understanding of the role of communications within an organisation.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload.
  • A team player who can work well across different teams. Willing to take the initiative or form a critical part of a larger team.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

 

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a sports/football organisation 
  • Experience working with partners and brands
