City in the Community Foundation (CITC)

Purpose:.

Established in 1986, City in the Community Foundation is the registered charity of Manchester City FC and uses the brand of the parent Club to deliver award-winning programmes centred around Health, Education and Inclusion. The projects engage and impact over 20,000 lives in Manchester annually.

The purpose of the Community Outreach Officer – Kicks is to coordinate all aspects of CITC’s Premier League Kicks project to deliver an inclusive programme across designated sites in Greater Manchester and work closely with Community Partners and Local Agencies.

Accountabilities with Key Outcomes: .

Coordinate a team of Delivery Coaches to deliver a weekly programme of inclusive PL Kicks projects, engaging participants across a wide range of ages, social backgrounds and abilities.

To work closely with key stakeholders within CITC, CFG and Premier League to develop and implement an innovative approach to engaging young people across football, youth work and multi-sports sites.

Report on set KPIs and outcomes associated with each project to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the Premier League Charitable Fund and additional community partnership funders.

Create, maintain and develop relationships with internal partners from CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester.

To support staff across CITC programmes and identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery on the programmes.

Contributing to management of budget spend to ensure the programme is delivered within the projected budget, escalating observations or any concerns where necessary.

Ensuring that CITC’s Safeguarding policy and procedures are embedded to the highest standard across the team. Work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework. Alongside maintaining high standards relating to quality assurance around programme health and safety.

Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team, escalating any breaches as appropriate and managing this with staff in a professional manner.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

Essential

In-depth understanding of coaching community-based programmes, specifically using sport to support participants with complex needs

Solid experience of working in and liaising with community organisations, local government departments and external funding partners

Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club

Level 2 Youth Work Qualification

GCSEs in English, Maths and Science

Experience of managing a team  

Competent across Microsoft office

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Creative and passionate about continuous improvement  

Resilient and adaptable to change

Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities

Desirable

Degree level education in relevant field

Coaching Level 2 qualification in football or one other relevant sport

Experience of coordinating Premier League Charitable Fund programmes and achieving associated KPI’s and outcomes

Remote line management

Presentation skills

Experience of delivering CPD training for team members and other professionals

Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects

Budget management and reporting

Funding – indirectly influences funding due to design and development of programmes that funding is used for and ongoing quality of delivery

Decision-making Authority: (Full / senior / some / limited / little / none)

Limited decision-making authority; the role direct manages delivery coaches so is an escalation point for them in that business area.

Reports into Community Outreach Manager.
