Job Description

Role Title: Creative Design Manager

Reports to:  Creative Design Lead

Division: Manchester City Operations

Department: Group Marketing

Role specific purpose:    


We’re looking for a talented and highly organised Creative Design Manager to help facilitate, organise and manage the creative and design requirements for Manchester City Football Club.


This role will support the Creative Design Lead in coordinating the workflow of design work as well as some hands-on management and direction.


You will be responsible for ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the expected standards.


Role specific accountabilities:


Oversee workflow and track team projects from brief to delivery to ensure projects are delivered on time


Traffic Management – Across both content and external departments


Rota and support of management of designers utilising Asana


Maintain manageable files/records/log of briefs, design work.


Support the Creative Design Lead to manage the department budget for freelance design.


Manage daily resource levels ensuring all stakeholders are up to date with changes and workflow is as steady as possible.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience: 



  • Experience managing other workers/agencies/freelancers
  • A facilitator, keen to make things happen at pace, manage expectations and unblock issues.
  • Great communicator, skilled at taking/refining briefs and understanding requirements.
  • A mix of analytical and creative capabilities


  • Experience working in busy design departments,
  • Degree in a creative or business management field
  • Knowledge of Football and the Premier League/Manchester City.
  • Knowledge of Asana
