Job Purpose

 

The Finance Analyst- Commercial Operations role will be a key part of the team supporting Manchester City (MCFC) and Manchester City Women (MCWFC) in achieving their EBITDA targets.

The role will provide thorough financial data analysis to support decision making across MCFC and MCWFC matchday revenue generation, including ticket pricing, hospitality packages and catering.

Whilst the role reports to the Finance Business Partner – Stadium Finance, it will also support the Finance Business Partner – Commercial with analysis on retail, media revenue, Partnerships deals and marketing spend.  

The Finance Analyst is expected to be diligent and curious with data, relishing the opportunity to build strong working relationships with the relevant colleagues at City Football Group as well as the internal and external stakeholders of MCFC and MCWFC.

Your Impact

 

1. Financial Analysis & Insight- Produce accurate and timely financial analysis to support Finance and business stakeholders, including trend analysis and performance tracking against budgets and forecasts.

 

2. Presentation & Communication of Insights- Translate financial and operational data into clear, concise presentations and dashboards/reports to support decision-making by senior stakeholders.

 

3. Reporting & Data Preparation- Support the preparation of regular reporting outputs (weekly/monthly), ensuing data is accurate, and aligned with finance systems and reporting standards.

 

4. Business Partnering Support- Support Finance Managers and Business Partners by preparing analysis, modelling scenarios and responding to ad-hoc queries to inform operational and commercial decisions.

 

5. Stakeholder Collaboration- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, supporting the delivery of accurate analysis and responding to information requests.


 

What we are looking for

 

Essential

 

  • Clear evidence of being qualified for the role – either through a relevant degree, an accounting qualification or relevant work experience
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent communicating and influencing skills; An approachable individual who is used to developing strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Positive, open mindset; used to working pro-actively and delivering high quality work with tight deadlines
