Football Education Coach - Casual

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:                  Football Education Coach - Casual 

DEPARTMENT:            Football Education

REPORTS TO:             Coaching Manager

LOCATION:                  Manchester

 

Job purpose

To coach and deliver across all Football Education programs in the UK (and Internationally where relevant). 

Please note this role is a casual position which means work is offered on an ad-hoc basis. Most of our work in the Football Education Programmes fall within school holidays and summer periods.

 

Key responsibilities

  • To ensure all the Manchester City coaching philosophy, methodology and principles are incorporated into the delivery of the program  
  • To support the lead staff pre, during and post the delivery
  • To deliver the coaching program provided to the highest standard and in a professional manner
  • To work both individually and collectively as part of a team in ensuring the project is delivered to the required levels and expectations

 

General responsibilities

  • To organise, structure and deliver the coaching program in a standard that represents Manchester City
  • To maintain professional conduct always in both on and off field environments

 

Compliance with City Football Group & local partner Safeguarding policies

  • This role involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults in a regulated activity (or near children and/or vulnerable adults).
  • This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold both the Club’s and the local partners commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

Scope of job

  • To communicate and educate players, coaches and teachers in the understanding and delivery of a Football Education program

 

Qualifications: The level of educational, professional and/or occupational training required.

 

 

  • UEFA B License (Level 3) or working towards
  • Member of a FA to maintain their Coach License
  • Education in sports coaching or teaching
  • Post-holder must hold or obtain at the earliest opportunity the relevant safeguarding training (i.e. FA Safeguarding Children Workshop)
  • Post-holder will be subject a DBS check at the appropriate level and cleared by the Manchester City Safeguarding Officer

Experience & Knowledge: proven record of experience, profession or specialism.

 

 

  • To have experience in a football environment both locally and Internationally
  • To have proven experience working with players from varying backgrounds and cultures
  • To have experience implementing and developing a football coaching syllabus
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge of planning, delivering and reviewing sessions
  • To have knowledge and understanding of player development and the four-corner model
  • To have experience working within a professional Football Club or sporting organisation

General skills & attributes: Flexibility, communication skills, working individually & in a team.

 

 

  • To have flexibility to travel when required to support projects both in the UK and Internationally
  • The ability to create a positive working environment that represents Manchester City and the local partner in the marketplace
  • To demonstrate how to coach and develop players of differing levels of ability
  • To communicate to players on and off the field and in a variety of settings such as informal, formal, individual or groups
  • To be organised in planning, preparation and execution within a project
  • To self-review sessions with individual players
  • To have the ability to evaluate and review programs on completion
