Our purpose is to empower better lives through football. We are proud of the role City Football Group clubs play in their localities, delivering positive economic, social and environmental impact through our operations and through programmes and activities that bring about meaningful, lasting change.

Within our Global Football function, we operate at the forefront of elite football strategy and decision-making working collaboratively across clubs to build competitive advantage, deliver sustainable success and maximise value through world-class football operations.

The role

City Football Group is seeking a Football Transactions Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering player transactions across our global portfolio of clubs.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end execution of player trading activity operating at the intersection of football, strategy and commercial decision-making. Working closely with Sporting Directors, senior executives, agents and external clubs, you will provide expert guidance, shape negotiation approaches and ensure transactions are delivered consistently, transparently and in line with CFG principles.

You will act as a trusted partner to club leadership, bringing both strategic insight and operational excellence to complex, high-value transactions. From initial strategy through to deal completion, you will manage workflows, coordinate stakeholders and ensure timely, informed decision-making across multiple markets and jurisdictions.

A key aspect of the role will be building and maintaining strong global relationships with clubs, agencies and key stakeholders, identifying opportunities to create value, optimise player pathways and strengthen CFG’s position within the market.

You will also contribute to the continuous evolution of CFG’s player trading model, supporting the development of group-wide strategies, processes and governance to ensure best-in-class execution across all clubs.

This is a highly collaborative and commercially focused role requiring strong relationship management, financial acumen and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

What we are looking for

  • Experience within football operations, sporting, consulting or strategic commercial environments, ideally with direct exposure to clubs, agencies and player transactions across international markets.
  • Strong understanding of football transactions, negotiations, contract structures, financial modelling and market dynamics, with experience managing complex deals end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders, including executives, Sporting Directors and external partners.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate insight into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence operating in high-pressure, fast-moving environments.
  • Experience working across multiple clubs, cultures and jurisdictions, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive alignment.
  • Highly organised with strong project and workflow management capability, able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Italian, French or Portuguese is highly desirable, with additional languages a strong advantage given the global scope of the role.
