As an academy coach you will to lead the delivery of high level training sessions and game day coaching in an elite category 1 environment, continually improving players individually and cohesively within the style of Manchester City Football Club. Although assigned to a particular age group you will also have the opportunity to support/lead the development of the Club’s other academy teams at different age groups.

 

Your Impact

  1. To lead age group coach to motivate and develop the individual players, enabling them to have success playing the Manchester City style of play 
  2. To understand and produce key programs to enable individual players to successfully transition from the age group to age group in line with the Club’s footballing philosophy. 
  3. To implement individual learning plans for your designated age group squad, whilst having an age specific understanding of Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological development. 
  4. Ability to identify individual skills and apply appropriate coaching, and tactical development tailored to the individual player. 
  5. To ensure the cohesion, conflict resolution and management of the individual players to ensure high behavioural standards and a positive team ethic are maintained by the players at all times. 
  6. To work cooperatively with all academy staff and to maintain relationships with the player’s parents or their guardians. 
  7. To liaise with the scouting and recruitment department for the selection of players. 
  8. To work in line with the strategy of EPPP as agreed by the Club. 
     

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Professional qualification: UEFA B Licence 
  • Professional qualification: FA Advanced Youth award
  • Previous experience of coaching the U6 – U11 age groups, in a lead capacity 
  • Minimum of 3 years working in an academy structure
  • Excellent ability to identify, develop and support football talent. 
  • An understanding and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.  
  • Ability to solve problems within a competitive and fast-moving environment.   
  • Excellent knowledge of player development, from an age specific capacity 

 

Desirable

  • Professional qualification: UEFA A Licence 
  • Experience and knowledge of recruitment processes
