Role Title: Girl’s Academy U14 Assistant Coach

Reports to:  Girl’s Academy Technical Director

Division: Manchester City Women

Role specific purpose:     


Please note this is a Part Time Vacancy(22 hrs per week) 

To coach our U14 Girls Academy team. The role involves, planning, delivering and reviewing training sessions alongside preparing players for competition. The coach will be responsible for delivering the academy curriculum and completing documentation related to monitoring player development. The coach will be expected to co-coach and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Role specific accountabilities:


To prepare, deliver and review training sessions and games.


Implement club methodology for player development.


Completion and delivery of club player assessment and feedback processes to monitor player progression.


Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.


Relationship management with players and guardians.


Create a positive learning environment for players.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Undergraduate qualification in coaching or a related subject / B Licence certificate in coaching football
  • Experience of coaching elite level female youth teams
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain relationships
  • Current FA safeguarding certificate
  • Knowledge of the girl’s and women’s game
  • High level of organisational skills


  • Masters qualification in coaching
  • A Licence certificate in coaching football
  •  Experience of working within elite academy environments
  • Elite level playing experience – youth or senior
