You will combine clinical leadership, evidence-informed rehabilitation and collaborative decision-making to support the team’s ambition to compete for major honours.

Who We Are

Manchester City Women is a team driven by ambition, belief and a desire to keep pushing the game forward. Founded in 1988 and relaunched in 2014, we have grown into a consistent force in the women’s game, competing at the highest level in the UK and Europe. Progress, performance and pride sit at the heart of everything we do. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are building what comes next, the City way.

Within Manchester City Women’s Performance Services team, we bring together medical, physiotherapy, soft-tissue and wider performance expertise to support player health and development. Working closely with coaches, players and the wider multidisciplinary team, we create an environment where thoughtful clinical practice and high performance can work together.

The Role

You will provide clinical leadership across the first team and women’s academy, using evidence-informed rehabilitation, injury surveillance and performance-related data to guide practice. You will maintain high standards of clinical governance, including record keeping, databasing, auditing and emergency action planning, while coordinating specialist and contractor support where appropriate.

The role is highly collaborative. You will work in partnership with the Manchester City Women’s Doctor, coaches, players and the wider performance team to build trust, enable clear decisions and support player availability. Through line management, mentoring and quality assurance, you will also help develop practitioners and align physiotherapy standards across the pathway.

What You’ll Bring

  • A recognised physiotherapy qualification, with current membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.

  • An up-to-date advanced emergency pitch-side qualification, such as ATMMiF or an equivalent qualification.

  • Experience  providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation support in an elite sporting or high-performance environment, including the assessment and management of complex injuries.

  • Experience leading service delivery and supporting the development of practitioners through line management, supervision or mentoring.

  • Knowledge of evidence-informed injury prevention, injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-play practice, with the ability to use clinical and performance data to inform decisions.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with players, coaches, medical colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
