City in the Community Foundation (CITC)

Purpose:

Established in 1986, City in the Community Foundation is the registered charity of Manchester City FC and uses the brand of the parent Club to deliver award-winning programmes centred around Health, Education and Inclusion. The projects engage and impact over 20,000 lives in Manchester annually.

The purpose of this role is to manage CITC’s associated partnerships, developing and enhancing corporate, public sector grant giving partners and implementing a strategy for their workstreams. Working closely with the Senior Partnerships Manager, wider management team and key departments within CFG, the role is expected to secure partnerships and grant revenue for CITC and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

The role forms part of the CITC Wider Management team and will be expected to play an active role, ultimately contributing to the achievement of strategic priorities and overall vision of the charity.  

Accountabilities with Key Outcomes:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the partner environment and a detailed understanding of the objectives, opportunities, and challenges across all aspects of the sector to build positive and productive relationships, in order to drive further growth and create ongoing successful partnerships.

To actively contribute to partnership sales and grant applications, seeking new opportunities based on business need, including local/national funding grants, corporate partnerships and individual relationships and in turn increase the growth of partnerships income into the charity.

Create a consistent framework that enables partners to develop compelling, competitive partnership strategies and activation plans. Contribute to the design and implementation of all elements of the partners framework to ensure appropriate opportunities for public and private sector funding partners.

To drive the planning approach, accepting ownership of any consultation workshops with key stakeholders and providing clear direction to the marketing/leadership teams. To manage this process with insight and expertise and involve other club departments as appropriate, delivering high quality output.

To compile regular partner insight and intelligence reports and circulate to specific partner leads and wider development. Input into the ongoing process of ensuring reports are innovative, informative, and fit for purpose, leading to partnership continuation and development.

To support partner activation when/where relevant and any other relevant partner events as and when required. To lead/support on the delivery of partner inventory and contracted rights across several local partnerships. Implement an ‘objectives and measurement-focused’ mind-set, enabling the department to build a full and true picture around the impact of the partnerships.

Ensuring that CITC’s Safeguarding policy and procedures are embedded to the highest standard across the team. Work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework.

Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team, escalating any breaches as appropriate

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

Essential

Experience in community foundations and/or partnership engagement

A proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships that are mutually beneficial.

Strong stakeholder management skills with a particular focus on client management

Experience with project management and comprehensive report writing.

Good working understanding of, and interest in, the business/administrative side of foundation work

A desire for continuous development within CITC, City Football Group and wider industry

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word)

Motivated, personable and proactive  

A strong eye for detail

Enthusiastic to learn and work independently and as part of a team, taking the initiative where required.

Desirable

Relevant degree in (but not restricted to) Football/ Sport Business, Marketing, Management, Hospitality or Public Relations

An ability to demonstrate examples of innovation in work would be beneficial

Additional language skills

Knowledge and interest in the sporting world

Network – direct contact with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining relationships and building a network of contacts to maximise impact

Funding – direct responsibility to create revenue to finance the Parnerships team
