Manchester City Academy is seeking a Phase Operations Executive & Matchday Coordinator to support operational delivery within the Professional Development Phase (PDP).

 

This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role at the heart of Academy matchday and operational planning. You will play a vital part in ensuring elite standards across match delivery, administration, stakeholder coordination and compliance. Due to the nature of Academy football operations, the successful candidate will be required to work most weekends, alongside evenings and Bank Holidays in line with fixture schedules.

 

Please be aware that this role is offered on an initial fixed-term contract until 30 September 2026.

 

Your Impact

 

  1. Lead and coordinate operational readiness for Academy fixtures, ensuring dressing rooms, officials, pitches, medical provision and stakeholder areas are prepared and compliant.
  2. Act as a central operational contact on matchdays, welcoming players, parents, opposition and officials while overseeing live event delivery and post-match close-down.
  3. Maintain accurate squad, fixture and operational data across internal systems, supporting reporting and compliance requirements.
  4. Coordinate travel, accommodation, tournament logistics and visa processes where required.
  5. Manage communication with players, parents and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional information flow.
  6. Support Academy tours and tournaments, including safeguarding responsibilities and parent briefings when appropriate.

 

What we are looking for

  • Experience working in a fast-paced administrative or operational environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident and credible communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, particularly on live matchdays.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital operational systems.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a professional approach to all interactions.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible and unsociable hours, including most weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays.

 

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of elite Academy operations at Manchester City. The role provides exposure to high-performance environments, cross-functional collaboration and matchday leadership experience.
