Our Story

Established in 2013, City Football Group is the world’s leading private owner and operator of football clubs, with total or partial ownership of twelve clubs across the world. City Football Group also invests in other football related businesses and serves as a global commercial platform for our partners, whilst fulfilling our purpose of empowering better lives through football on a local and global scale, consistent with what “City” football has meant to people for over a century.

Our Winning Team

Our purpose is to empower better lives through football. We are proud of the role City Football Group clubs play in their localities, delivering positive economic, social and environmental impact through our operations and through programmes and activities that bring about meaningful, lasting change.

At City Football Group, technology underpins everything we do — from performance on the pitch to how we operate as a global organisation. We’re looking for a Technology PMO Manager to help bring clarity, structure and momentum to our Technology delivery portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, making complex programmes easier to understand, and ensuring great ideas are delivered in a clear, well-governed way. You don’t need to come from a traditional technology background — curiosity, collaboration and strong organisational skills matter just as much here.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building an inclusive team where different perspectives are valued.

This is Your City

As part of our team, you will be entitled to 26 days annual leave plus an additional day off for your birthday, private healthcare and a Simply Health cash plan, an annual discretionary bonus, plus a range of partnership and lifestyle discounts.

Your Impact

  1. Own and maintain clear, accurate portfolio reporting across the Technology project landscape.
  2. Coordinate and support governance meetings, ensuring the right conversations happen at the right time.
  3. Produce portfolio packs, capture decisions and track actions through to completion.
  4. Support project teams to follow agreed lifecycle and governance approaches, providing guidance and structure where needed.
  5. Develop clear dashboards and status reporting that highlight progress, risks and emerging trends.
  6. Continuously improve PMO processes, templates and tools to keep them practical, lightweight and genuinely useful.
  7. Ensure projects are logged, tracked and closed in a consistent and well-documented way.
  8. Maintain risk, issue, dependency and action logs, escalating key items when required.
  9. Build strong, collaborative relationships across Technology and the wider organisation.

What we are looking for

  • A structured and organised approach, with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear, confident communication skills — written and verbal.
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets and simple metrics.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Proactive and pragmatic, focused on outcomes rather than process for process’ sake.
  • Curious and keen to learn more about technology delivery and PMO best practice.
  • Early-career experience in a business, technology or PMO environment (e.g. graduate role, placement, internship or 1–2 years’ experience).
  • Experience supporting projects or PMO activity such as reporting, meeting notes or trackers.
  • Confidence using Excel / Google Sheets and PowerPoint / Google Slides.
  • Beneficial; PRINCE2, Agile or ITIL qualifications, experience using JIRA, exposure to Agile or SCRUM environments.
