We’re seeking a skilled U.S. Video Editor to join City Studios NYC in New York City on a hybrid schedule, focused on producing engaging, social-first content for Manchester City’s U.S. audience. This role centres on editing and post-production, working with a mix of self-shot footage, freelancer submissions, and content from both the U.S. and Manchester to craft videos that feel culturally relevant and platform optimized. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of U.S. digital trends, football culture, and social storytelling, with the ability to deliver polished, high-quality edits quickly and independently.

Your Impact

 

Post-Production Lead (Primary Focus)

  • Lead on editing short-form and long-form video content for U.S. channels including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and X.
  • Work with footage from diverse sources — including in-house, freelance, and Manchester-based productions - to craft cohesive, engaging video stories.
  • Optimize content for vertical video platforms and make smart format choices based on channel-specific behavior and performance.
  • Select music, text overlays, and visual treatments that align with global brand and resonate with American audiences to amplify engagement.

 

Content Calendar & Collaboration

  • Deliver against the U.S. social content calendar, aligning video content with tentpole moments, campaign needs, and cultural events.
  • Collaborate closely with U.S. and U.K. editorial teams to intake, adapt, and repackage existing assets into new formats tailored for U.S. growth.
  • Interpret creative briefs and pitch concepts that elevate key themes or player stories to connect with new and existing fans.

 

Audience Growth & Performance Optimization

  • Ensure content drives KPIs including audience growth, engagement, and retention, particularly among younger, football-curious U.S. viewers.
  • Use data and platform insights to refine editing techniques, formats, and narrative structure.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in U.S. sports media, editing styles, and creator-led content.

 

Production Support & Editorial Flexibility

  • Occasionally support on shoots with basic camera operation or direction, particularly for local NYC-based events.
  • Coordinate with freelance shooters to ensure footage is consistent with brand tone and technical standards.
  • Manage post-production timelines, prioritize edits based on impact, and proactively flag roadblocks or content gaps.

 

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years experience editing digital video content for social media, ideally in sports, entertainment, or brand storytelling.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; (additional familiarity with CapCut or Final Cut is a plus), motion graphics or animation capabilities (After Effects, Canva, etc.).
  • Skilled in editing for vertical-first platforms (Reels, Shorts, TikTok) with a strong sense of pacing, transitions, and visual storytelling.
  • Comfortable editing with a mix of media types (iPhone, DSLR, broadcast) and adapting formats for different audience mindsets.
  • Strong instincts for sound design, music selection, and working with subtitles or motion graphics templates.
  • Able to work independently and make editorial decisions.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple overlapping projects.
  • Good working knowledge of U.S. culture, sports fandom, and the digital attention economy.
  • Interest in football (soccer), especially Manchester City, and a desire to help the brand grow in the U.S.
  • Experience collaborating with high profile athletes, creators, influencers.
  • Presenting/interviewing or working with on-camera talent
  • Bilingual (e.g. Spanish) or experience engaging diverse fanbases would be ideal.
